Acknowledgement of Country

At the Pollinator Project, we respectfully acknowledge the Bunurong people of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we live, learn, and grow. We pay our deepest respects to their Elders—past, present and emerging—and recognise their enduring connection to Country, community, and culture.

We honour the wisdom embedded in this land: from the flowering plants that bloom with purpose, to the native bees and pollinators that have danced among them for thousands of years, guided by the natural rhythms known so intimately to the First Peoples.

As we work to protect biodiversity and support native habitats, we are reminded that caring for Country is a practice that has been upheld by the Bunurong people for countless generations. Their stories, knowledge systems, and deep custodianship are at the heart of this living landscape—from coastlines to grasslands, from waterways to woodlands.

In walking this path, we commit to listening, learning, and acting in partnership. May we honour the strength and resilience of First Nations peoples and strive towards a future of reconciliation, shared stewardship, and respect for all living things.
